Sharad Sharma is founder of World Comics Network and a cartoonist based in New Delhi, India. He was associated with many newspapers and magazines before he switched to electronic media and introduced political animation to Indian TV news channels. He took the art of cartooning and comics to the rural hinterland of India and other South Asian countries, Africa, Europe and Latin America. He has published several books and manuals. He was awarded an Ashoka Fellowship in 2005, Real Heroes Award-2008 and Karmaveer Award-2009.

Nida Shams is a grassroots comics trainer and a graphic designer in Karachi, Pakistan. World Comics Network - Pakistan was formed under her leadership. She has conducted several grassroots comics workshops across Pakistan and trained teachers, students, activists and common people. She co-authored (with Sharad Sharma) book “Bolti Lakeerain” 2010.
She has also trained activists in Nepal, Sri Lanka and India.

Kezia Lavan is a comics trainer based in Manchester (currently in Brazil). She formed a Grassroots Comics Group called “Community Comics –UK” in 2006. She was part of Community Pride Initiative, there she used grassroots comics methodology to raise several issues. She has also trained activists in Brazil.. |
Vivian is an activist associated with Viracao, an organization based in Sao Paulo, Brazil. She has organised several comics workshops in and around city. She has also used comics to address the issue of gender and adolescent. They also reproduce these comics in their magazines as well. |

Rosiamliana Ralte is a Mizoram based artist, has participated in various solo and group exhibition. He is an art teacher by profession. He worked local resource person in the workshops organized by WCI. Ralte instituted Comics Division in Mizoram and started a regular comics wallposter titled Kawhhmuhtu.

Sunder Mohan Murmu is from Jaduguda, Jharkhand, a place of uranium source in India. He has made many comics wall posters on the radiation effects on local tribals in his village. Sunder has conducted workshops all over the country and also prints a regular wallposter “Aibhen Marshaal” in santhali language. He loves to draw comics whenever he gets time from his football practice.

Tawna is from Mizoram. After attending several workshops in Mizoram, he liked the idea of Grassroots Comics idea. After finishing his schooling, he was trained as a trainer. He has conducted two independent workshops in Serchipp district of Mizoram.

Deepti Arolkar is a lawyer by profession and committed comics activists based in Goa. She is one of the founder member of Goenkar Changemaker and has trained several students, children in Grassroots Comics.

Amresh Kumar is a student in Muzaffarpur. He got inclined towards comics when he was in class 7th. Amresh is leading a campaign on “Children’s participation in local governance” in Muzaffarpur. A campaign which changed adults perspective towards children’s voice. After reading one of his comics village head sanctioned two handpumps in school.

T. Nandeshu (Orissa)- He has organised a number of comics workshops in Andhra Pradesh, Orissa and Jharkhand. Currently he is working as a cartoonist in a local newspaper.

Manish Singh (Jodhpur, Rajasthan) - This Fine Arts graduate from School of Arts, Jaipur, attended a workshop, in Delhi and decided to spread the idea in other part of the country. He was part of corporal punishment campaign in UP.

Suresh Jaipal is an activist living in a small village Anti in Barmer, Rajasthan. Suresh has made many comics wall posters on girl child right and Dalit issues. He is one of the founder members of Barmer Comics Forum. One of his comics on public hearing on electricity brought electricity in his village. |
Lakhindra Nayak (Sarai Kela, Jharkhand) - He attended a workshop in 2003 in Jharkhand as a participant. His comics named ‘Guthkha’, which was based on a social message gained appreciation. This trainer of ours has been a part of around 36 workshops in different states. |

Reshma Bhikle is Goa based comics activits. She has conducted several comics workshops in Goa, Delhi and Chennai. Reshma has also produced comics on environmental law, protection of Right to Emergency Aid. A workshop with senior citizens of Bicholim (Goa) was a unique experience for her. She has received Gandhi Fellowship instituted by Kaivalya Foundation.

Rahul is an activist working for an organisation in Bhagalpur in Bihar. He has successfully conducted many comics workshops with the fisherman’s community and other social groups. Through his comics and posters, he has voiced his support for other organisations and movements. |
Hansaram (Barmer, Rajasthan)- As a social activist in a small organization of Barmer, Hansaram participated in World Comics workshop for the first time in 2005. He showed interest in it and was eventually trained as a trainer. He has produced many wall posters on ‘child marriages’ and ‘girl child’ rights. Hansaram also trained the youth and children of his area about this concept of Grassroots Comics. This trainer of ours is presently running independent comic workshops in different parts of Rajasthan. |
(Kolkata, West Bengal)- Runa is associated with a Kolkata based organization called CINI-ASHA, which deals mainly with children’s’ issues. She was a co-ordinator during a World Comics workshop organised with CINI-ASHA on the issue of ‘parenting’. After this, she was trained as a trainer at a TOT workshop in Goa. Runa did a few workshops with the kids of slums. |

Papiya Pal (Kolkata, West Bengal)- She was working as a teacher in one of the centers of DAS (Development Activist Society), when she attended the a World Comics workshop for the first time in 2006, during ‘Save The Children’ campaign in Kolkata. After this, she was trained as a trainer at TOT, in Bhopal in 2006 itself.In December 2006, she organised an independent workshop as a trainer.
